A body was found Monday in a car that caught fire apparently after getting stuck in a snowdrift on a road near Fertile, Minn., said Norman County Sheriff Jeremy Thornton.
Thornton said his department and the state fire marshal's office are investigating the incident, but that no evidence suggests foul play.
Authorities are waiting to confirm the victim's identity through an autopsy before releasing the victim's name, he said.
About 7:20 a.m., a person driving along County Highway 1 reported the car, a mid-size General Motors vehicle, was on fire.
Thornton said firefighters extinguished the blaze which burned the entire vehicle. The victim's remains were found in the front seat, he said.

Thornton said the car was in the westbound lane of the road, 2 to 3 miles south and 5 miles west of Fertile.
The snowdrift that seems to have disabled the car spanned across the road, extended 50 to 60 feet and was about a foot deep, he said.
