BISMARCK -- Of the 2,500 tickets available to members of the public wanting to see Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, only 250 remained as of noon Tuesday.
The 1,200 tickets available online Monday were gone almost immediately. And people lined up outside waiting for the box office to open at 11:30 a.m. today, said Tessa Sandstrom, NDPC director of communications for the North Dakota Petroleum Council.
According to the NDPC, host of the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference where Trump will speak in Bismarck May 24-26, more public tickets may become available depending on how many people register for the conference.
Conference-goers are guaranteed a spot to see the presidential hopeful when he speaks at 1 p.m. May 26. For those who want to see Trump but do not wish to attend the rest of the conference, the ticket price is $30.
As of Tuesday morning, there were 2,020 registrants for the conference, a little less than double the 1,200 attendees registered at the end of March. Sandstrom indicated that figure is expected to rise.

In 2014, the event, which bounces between the United States and Canada every other year, drew a record 4,250 registrants. NDPC is expecting about 3,500 this year.
