COSMOS, Minn. – Neighbors reportedly came to an elderly Cosmos man’s aid yesterday morning, extinguishing a fire at his residence after smelling smoke and seeing flames coming from the front door area of his townhouse.
The resident of the townhouse, 88-year-old Myrtle Benjamin, reportedly made it out of his home safely and was not injured, according to a press release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement and firefighters were dispatched around 11:19 a.m. to the residence, located in the 300 block of North Neptune Street. The Cosmos Fire Department confirmed that the fire had been fully extinguished.
