Beginning in 2010, elections in Benson County will be conducted by mail.
The county commissioners decided to switch to mail from the eight precinct sites on Election Day. For those who choose not to vote by mail, the county courthouse will be the only site available on election day.
Twenty-two of North Dakota's 53 counties voted by mail in 2008. The switch will save money on precinct workers' salaries. It's also become difficult to find enough people to work the polls, Benson County Auditor Bonnie Erickson said.
