Bemidji man dies in snowmobile accident Saturday

BEMIDJI -- Seth Ryan, 23, Bemidji, died from injuries sustained during a snowmobile accident reported early Saturday morning on the 4900 block of Sherman Drive NE in Bemidji.

BEMIDJI -- Seth Ryan, 23, Bemidji, died from injuries sustained during a snowmobile accident reported early Saturday morning on the 4900 block of Sherman Drive NE in Bemidji.

Ryan was pronounced dead on scene despite the efforts of emergency responders, police said in a release Monday.

Ryan collided with a mailbox, telephone pedestal and multiple trees before he came to rest in the north ditch of Sherman Drive near the east side of Lake Bemidji, the release said.

He appeared to have been riding alone.

The Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the call, with assistance from the Bemidji Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
