BEMIDJI, Minn. -- A Bemidji man accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl pleaded not guilty this week in Beltrami County Court.
Matthew August Loos, 28, faces a felony charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for an alleged incident in May 2013. According to court documents, Loos had sex with the girl while she was sleeping. Loos denied the allegation in a statement to law enforcement.
If convicted, Loos could face up to 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Nov. 13 in Beltrami County Court.
