A jury has returned a guilty verdict in the case of a Belcourt, N.D., man charged with sexually abusing a child under 12 years old.
Following a three-day trial in Minot, jurors found Thursday that John Wallette abused the child during a period before July 2008, the U.S. attorney's office said in a news release.
Wallette, 35, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison and a maximum of life behind bars.
His sentencing is set for April 25 in Minot's federal courthouse.
