ROSEAU, Minn.-A Baudette, Minn., man will spend six months behind bars for sexually assaulting an underaged teenager last year in Roseau County.
Chad Vincent Reed, 27, was sentenced Monday in Roseau County District Court to 180 days in jail after pleading guilty to a third-degree felony charge of criminal sexual conduct. He faced up to 15 years in prison for the charge
A criminal complaint detailed events from June 24, stating Reed held the minor down and sexually assaulted her while she told him to stop. Reed told investigators he had consumed a lot of alcohol that day and admitted to having sex with the accuser, according to the complaint.
He initially said he didn't force the girl to have sexual intercourse, according to the complaint.
Reed also faced five other counts of criminal sexual conduct-two in the first degree and three in the third degree - and a second-degree charge of burglary in the criminal case, but those charges were dismissed after he signed a plea agreement.
