Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Quincy Adam Pederson, the Two Harbors, Minn., native who died Tuesday after a standoff with police, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Pederson, 38, was wanted on robbery and assault charges arising from a restaurant robbery and police shootout last week in North St. Paul. On Tuesday, he lost control of a vehicle during a chase in Cook County. Shots were fired, and Pederson was later found dead in the vehicle.
An autopsy determined Pederson fired the fatal bullet. He suffered no other gunshot wounds, according to the autopsy, and no officers were injured.
Four officers were placed on administrative leave following the incident.
