Movember celebration
A "Movember Bash" hosted by Team Grand Morks is set for 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday in the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks.
The cost to attend is $10; all proceeds benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Livestrong.
The event will feature a silent auction and live music from the North River Ramblers and the Hasties. Sanders, Toasted Frog and Dakota Harvest will provide food and wine. Spencer Dobson will host the event.
The "Men of Movember" come together each November to grow moustaches to raise awareness of men's health issues.

Candlelight memorial service
Altru's Infant and Child Bereavement Program will hold a candlelight service at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 for all the babies who died shortly before or after birth.
During the program, ornaments will be placed on a tree in the main lobby of Altru Hospital; people who wish to have their child's name inscribed on an ornament can call Altru's Pastoral Service Office at (701) 780-5300 before Wednesday. Ornaments also can be inscribed between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6.
