Patrol to enforce right of way

The North Dakota Highway Patrol will monitor intersections of southeastern North Dakota, including Eddy, Foster, Steele, Griggs and Traill counties, on Wednesday and Thursday for motorists running stop signs or failing to yield the right of way to emergency vehicles, commonly called the "move over law."

Drivers are required to move over to the adjacent lane or slow their speed if it's not safe to change lanes. Violations carry a $50 fine.

Little Caesars special delivery

The Little Caesars Love Kitchen will roll up to the Northlands Rescue Mission on Thursday to provide fresh pizza meals to about 300 people. The Little Caesars Love Kitchen travels across the U.S. and Canada to support the hungry, homeless and disaster survivors. The company said in a press release that the Love Kitchen has fed more than 2 million people in 48 states and four provinces.

Motorcyclists

donate to Altru

Altru's infant bereavement program recently received a donation of more than $3,000 from Red River Valley Motorcyclists, raised during its annual show in April. The money will go to help families and friends grieving the loss of an infant.

High Plains holds membership drive

High Plains Cooperative is conducting a membership drive for its new marketing cooperative that will sell Pride of Dakota products and services.

A public meeting, one of eight across North Dakota, is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the C'mon Inn, 3051 32nd Ave. S. in Grand Forks. Those who are not Pride of Dakota members will have an opportunity to either join Pride of Dakota or buy preferred stock in the cooperative.

Bike rodeo set

for June 24

The RiverView Bike Safety Rodeo for children ages 5 to 12 is set for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 24 in the Crookston High School parking lot.

The bike rodeo will focus on teaching children safe handling of a two-wheel bicycle. This year's rodeo will also feature ambulance and fire truck tours, free popcorn and beverages, and prize drawings.

'Lights, camera, action' in a month

Extras will be needed when NoDak Films cuts a scene from "Last Summer for Boys" on July 17 at the UND REAC 1 in Grand Forks.

Director Nathan Anderson said about 400 North Dakotans auditioned, 90 were called back and 25 actors and actresses were cast from 15 state towns and cities. Financial contributions have come from about 200 individuals, businesses and towns.

Relay for Life team raises $10,000

Team "Superstars" recently raised more than $10,000 for the Relay for Life Marshall County Chapter in Warren, Minn. The eight-member team reportedly raised the money without a sponsor.
