This week's Animal Watch features kitty coupons. Actually, it's just a bargain on adopting cats in Grand Forks.
Cats of the Heart, a program initiated by Circle of Friends Humane Society, features one cat every day for 50 percent off. Each day in February a different cat will be featured and for that day only the feline will be up for adoption for $50, as opposed to the regular rate of $100. Pit-Pat is the kitty that's on-deck to be featured Thursday.
“She had been out in the cold living underneath somebody's trailer and her ears had been frostbitten off," said Maranda Weathermon of Circle of Friends Humane Society. "So it took some time for ears to heal because they were pretty scabbed over when she came in. Now she's all healed up and ready to go.”
The program is designed to find cats homes that have been at the shelter for more than 30 days. Each day a new cat is posted on the Circle of Friends’ Facebook page.
