FARGO -- Top 10 reasons you can't trust state Sen. Tim Mathern, D-Fargo, the Democratic nominee for governor:
10. Mathern has no record in economic development, but has a long record in increasing taxes.
9. All of Mathern's plans are tired, unworkable proposals that have failed in the past and would be dead on arrival.
8. Mathern is behind the curve; everything he says he's going to do is already being done or has been done by Gov. John Hoeven.
7. Mathern's tuition plan, which failed in the Legislature and was voted down by the people, would force North Dakota students to foot the bill for college, and then punish them if they are unable to find a job in North Dakota.

6. He has no plan for job creation, making Reason No. 7 even worse for young people.
5. Mathern refuses to work across party lines to get things done.

1. Mathern isn't credible. He isn't credible on his own record, and he often resorts to negative attacks and misrepresentations of his opponent. That is not what North Dakota needs if it wants to continue its progress in the future.
