Alerus Center commissioners agreed Wednesday to start charging for parking for major events at the Grand Forks facility.
The $5 parking cost would affect only events where ticket prices are more than $10, which means concerts and UND football games.
Secretary Darrell Larson said home shows and other expos would not be affected.
So far, there's been no decision when this would start.
In July, when the center assembled its budget, parking fees were projected to gain the center $103,000 this year, assuming the fees began in September.
