A 15-year-old girl from Adams, N.D., suffered serious head injuries after her all-terrain vehicle was clipped by a pickup in town, according to the state Highway Patrol.

The girl, who was not named, was taken first to First Care Hospital in Park River, N.D., before being flown to a Fargo hospital.

Both the ATV and the pickup, a 2010 Ford driven by a 60-year-old man, were eastbound on Third Street in Adams. The ATV was passing the Ford but, as they approached Farup Street, the Ford made a left turn and clipped the rear of the ATV, causing it to roll and throw the girl.

The Highway Patrol did not release the name of the driver of the pickup. It said the accident is still under investigation.
