An Ada, Minn., woman was killed and three other women injured this afternoon in a crash near Hillsboro, N.D., the state Highway Patrol said.
The identities of the women were not released while their relatives were being notified.
The Ada woman was 89 and traveling with a 17-year-old girl and a 43-year-old woman, both from Borup, Minn. The other victim was a 20-year-old woman from Hatton, N.D.
The 43-year-old was driving an SUV northbound on Interstate 29 when the vehicle stopped in the passing lane to cross the median and head south about four miles north of Hillsboro. The 20-year-old was driving behind them in her SUV and rear-ended the first SUV.

The 89-year-old died at the scene. Others in her vehicle were taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Sanford Health in Fargo.
Everyone involved wore seatbelts.
The Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
