Police Chief Jody Bueng said Monday that a Sept. 1 fire that destroyed a house in Ada, Minn., was intentionally set and a reward is being offered for information about it.
The fire was discovered about 11 p.m. on a Sunday, Sept. 1, in the Norman County city of about 1,500. The home's two residents, owner Brock Robertson and his nine-year-old son, were in Fargo at the time. Robertson told reporters his two dogs escaped the blaze, which had engulfed the home before the local fire department arrived on the scene.
In a news release Monday, Chief Bueng offered a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest of persons responsible for the fire.
He said people can call the state's Arson Reward Hotline at (800) 723-2020.
