LAKE CRYSTAL, Minn. -- A Lake Crystal man who was killed by an apparent intruder in his home this week was shot in the head and not breathing when his wife made a frantic call to 911.
That's according to a transcript of Tuesday morning's 911 call, which was released today by Blue Earth County authorities.
In the transcript, the wife of 26-year-old James Nibbe pleads for help and says she doesn't know if the intruder is coming back.
Jennifer Nibbe also describes the apparent intruder as a man about 5-feet, 8-inches tall and wearing a nylon cover on his head. The Star Tribune reports the transcript says the man pinned her on the living room floor, but left when the family dog began barking.
Authorities have made no arrests, but say they believe the incident is isolated and that the public is not in danger.
