Nine bars and liquor stores failed alcohol compliance checks Saturday, as the Grand Forks Police Department cracked down on underage drinking during Springfest.
The businesses that failed were Charlie Brown's, the Diamond Lounge, El Roco, the Hub Bar, Hugo's on South Columbia Road, Jake's, Joe Blacks and Sledsters.
As for Springfest, the police department reported approximately 80 citations issued by Saturday evening. Last year, there were 74 arrests.
Officers sent offenders through a temporary processing center set up at the park's warming house on Saturday.
