FARGO – A 6-year-old girl was hit by a car as she and two other children ran for the school bus in south Fargo Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of 26th Avenue and 18th Street south.

The bus was traveling south and the car was headed north, both on 18th street.

Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel said the other two children apparently saw the car and stopped but the girl didn’t see it and was struck.

She was taken to a hospital in an ambulance with unknown injuries.
