FARGO
SEI is optimistic that it will be able to find new positions for nearly 50 Fargo employees whose jobs are at risk, a company official said Tuesday.
Seventeen employees are affected immediately, and 30 more will be affected later this summer, said Danny Miles, director of human resources-U.S. for Ygomi, SEI's parent company.
SEI provides call center customer service to clients worldwide.
Several customers plan to cut back on the amount of business they do with SEI, which jeopardizes 47 jobs, Miles said.

But SEI is hopeful that it can shift the 47 employees into other positions, he said.
The 17 people affected immediately remain on staff for two weeks, which SEI hopes will provide time to find new positions for them, he said.
SEI has more than 1,000 employees worldwide, including 425 in Fargo.
SEI was established in 1969 and began its call center business in 1986.
It has been in business in Fargo since 1991.
