GRAFTON, N.D.-A 37-year-old man faces life in prison after being accused of engaging in sexual acts with a child
Anthony Soliz Herrera Jr. was charged Friday in Walsh County District Court on two Class AA felony counts of gross sexual imposition.
The charges come after law enforcement were told in April 2016 that Herrera was allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a victim who at the time was younger than 15, according to charging documents. It's unclear when the sexual acts took place, but court documents indicate they happened at the juvenile's home in Grafton.
The Herald typically does not identify victims of sexual assault unless the victim makes his or her name public.
The classification for the charges carries the highest penalty for a crime in North Dakota: life without parole. He faces life in prison because he was older than 22 and the victim was younger than 15 at the time of the alleged act.

North Dakota's court record website indicates Herrera is from Grafton, but the Walsh County Jail, where Herrera is being held, said Cavalier was listed as his city address.
