A two-car accident on the Columbia Road overpass in Grand Forks early Sunday afternoon injured three people and caused extensive damage to both vehicles.
Rock Desmarais, 42, of Grand Forks, was driving a Nissan pickup south in the outside southbound lane, started sliding and then crossed into the northbound lanes. Amanda Tucker, 26, of Grand Forks, was driving a Ford Edge north in the outside northbound lane and struck the passenger-side front of the Nissan.
Desmarais and passenger Gracie Desmarais, 12, suffered injuries and were transported to Altru Hospital by ambulance, said Sgt. Kevin Kallinen of the Grand Forks Police Department. Rock Desmarais was issued a citation for failure to have a vehicle under control.
Tucker and passenger Samantha Olson, 23, were transported to the hospital by a private vehicle. One of the two had minor injuries, Kallinen said.
