BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. -- A 2-year-old boy died during a fire at a Brooklyn Center apartment building Friday morning.

The fire occurred about 11:30 a.m. at Twin Lakes North Apartment Complex, 4539 58th Ave.

Firefighters found the boy in the back bedroom of an upper-story unit; he was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he was pronounced dead.

KSTP-TV identified the victim as Keoni Holt, citing a family member.

The fire remains under investigation.
