A Roosevelt, Minn., man was killed early Thursday when a car struck a logging truck in Lake of the Woods County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1992 Geo Prizm driven by Kevin Aker, 31, of Roosevelt, Minn., was traveling eastbound on County Road 8 when it struck a Ford Semi-trailer logging truck northbound on County Road 2. The accident occurred just after 7 a.m. about five miles north of Williams, Minn.
Aker was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said. The driver of the logging truck, Bertil Dahl, 70, Loman, Minn., was not injured.
The Lake of the Woods Sheriff's Office and the Roseau County Sheriff's Office also responded to the accident, which remains under investigation.
