Women injured in incident on I-29 at Grand Forks

A woman was injured after she was hit by a semi truck late Sunday evening on Interstate 29 near Grand Forks.

According to a report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the 20-year-old woman ran out of the median and into the side of the truck near mile marker 137. The semi, driven by Adam Thorson-Fernsler, 30, of Fargo, was coming from Fargo to a site in the Grand Forks industrial park. The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m.

The woman, of Sidney, Mont., was taken to Altru Hospital with serious injuries, according to the Highway Patrol. She was not identified in the Highway Patrol press release. Thorson-Fernsler was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
