Charges are pending against a 23-year-old Minnesota woman after she led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit down Interstate 29 Tuesday morning.

A North Dakota State Trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding around 10:48 a.m. Tuesday, March 16 near Thompson on Interstate 29, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

As the trooper was walking up to the vehicle the driver, Madison Freeman, 23 of Minnesota, allegedly took off from the traffic stop, causing a pursuit.

The driver reached a top speed of 120 mph. Freeman “went through the median and proceeded northbound, then again went through the median and proceeded southbound on Interstate 29,” the release said. She then then took the Mayville exit when the trooper used “a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) to stop the pursuit.”

Freeman was then stopped and taken into custody without further incident.
