A hazardous weather outlook has been issued by the National Weather Service for northwestern Minnesota and portions of northeastern North Dakota.
Kittson, Roseau, Pennington and Marshall counties in Minnesota and Pembina County in North Dakota are expected to see winter weather impacts this week, which includes an inch or less of snow this morning, Dec. 5.
"Light snow events can be similar or even more dangerous than heavier snow events, if drivers are not prepared," according to a weather statement by NWS in Grand Forks. "Snow covered roads and intersections can be very hazardous, especially during high traffic periods."
Another inch or less of snow is expected Friday afternoon, Dec. 6. Light accumulating snow is possible throughout the weekend, and extremely frigid temperatures and wind chills are possible Monday and Tuesday night.
