Grand Forks public schools, UND closed for blizzard
Grand Forks Publics Schools has canceled school for Thursday in anticipation of a major blizzard moving into the area.
The school district announced the closing after 3:30 p.m. It includes Head Start, early childhood education classes and after-school activities.
UND will also be closed Thursday. As of 4:25 p.m., Crookston public schools and the University of Minnesota-Crookston had also called off classes.
The National Weather Service is predicting the storm will be the most severe of this winter and could bring 12 inches of snow and winds gusting to 60 mph.
