Warm, but dry week ahead, weather officials say

Temperatures Wednesday will rise to nearly 90 degrees and the Grand Forks area will continue to see warm weather for the rest of the week.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Dan Riddle said the high temperatures were caused by normal atmospheric shifts that placed a heat bubble over western and central Canada through eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

Riddle said temperatures will likely peak Saturday, rising just over 90 degrees. Weather patterns are in line with the past, as Riddle said this is "typically one of the warmest and driest times of year." Humidity is expected to stay fairly low, he said.
