A Walsh County farmer who died after falling into a grain bin Monday, June 15, has been identified.
Thomas Shirek, 50, of Park River, died when he fell into the grain bin on his rural Adams, N.D., property on Monday, according to a release from the Walsh County Sheriff's Department.
Walsh County Sheriff Ron Jurgens told the Herald that Shirek fell into the grain bin around 3 p.m. Monday. Other farm workers reported the incident, and first responders were on the scene at 3:05 p.m. Shirek was transported to First Care Health Care in Park River, where he was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m.
