Shooter dies after killing woman in Minot, police say

Upon arrival, police found the deceased woman and quickly identified a suspect.

MINOT, N.D. — A 50-year-old Minot woman is dead after an early morning shooting in southwest Minot, according to a release from the Minot Police Department.

About 7:01 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, police were called for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found the deceased woman and quickly identified a suspect, the release said.

Officers began a search and located the suspect, a 23-year-old Minot man, a short distance away, the release said. He was deceased.

Names are being withheld pending notification of families. No further information was available Sunday.
