Rural fire departments respond to grass fire north of Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, N.D. – The Hillsboro and Buxton Fire Departments responded Friday to a grassfire just east of the northbound lane of Interstate 29 north of Hillsboro.

Shortly before 3 p.m., a dispatcher at the Trail County Sheriff’s Department said she believed the blaze was under control, and that the fire did not come into contact with any structures. The dispatcher said she has not heard any reports of injuries, and that she is waiting for further information from deputies on scene.

The fire happened in the area of mile markers 108-109.
