One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in a crash on Interstate 29 Friday morning.

Kaitlyn Berglund, 23, of Grand Forks, was driving a 2008 Honda Civic north on Interstate 29 around 7:15 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle on the wet and icy road, according to a crash report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The Honda traveled through the median and into the southbound lanes of the interstate, striking the driver’s side of a 2020 GMC Terrain driven in the southbound lane by Deanne Lunski, 53, of Ardoch, N.D.

The crash took place at mile marker 147, about 5 miles north of Grand Forks.

The vehicles came to rest on the southbound shoulder. Berglund was uninjured. Lunski was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The driver of another southbound vehicle took evasive action upon encountering the crash, and the vehicle slid into the west ditch, the NDHP said. No injuries resulted.
