Northland Community and Technical College has been named one of the nation's top 10 community colleges, according to a recent WalletHub study.

Northland was ranked ninth in the nation for its two-campus system in East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls, Minn.

To determine where students can receive the best education at the cheapest rates, WalletHub compared 710 community colleges across 19 key indicators of cost and quality, WalletHub said in a press release. The data set ranges from the cost of in-state tuition and fees to student-faculty ratio to graduation rate.

Minnesota was ranked third in the country, behind Washington and South Dakota, for its community college system. North Dakota was ranked 20th.
To determine its state-by-state analysis, WalletHub calculated a weighted average of the scores earned by the community colleges in each state and the number of students enrolled in each school.
