FARGO โ€” North Dakota officials have announced that about 45,000 kids will be able to receive meal assistance this summer.

Families with school-aged children may receive a $120 pandemic electronic benefits transfer (P-EBT) on a specially issued card, if their child was enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program during the 2022-23 school year or the summer of 2023.

Families must apply to receive the benefit at https://ndsummerebt.nd.gov/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery.

Applications are due by Monday, Aug. 21. Parents unable to complete an online application can get a paper application from their child's school.

Children ages 0-5 who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds will also get the P-EBT benefit.

Families that receive SNAP benefits do not need to apply. They may receive up to $171 in additional benefits during the summer. This will be deposited as a one-time lump sum on the household's SNAP-EBT card.
