MINOT — Police in Minot say they have seized more than $1 million worth of fentanyl pills.
The Minot Police Department announced Tuesday, June 21, it arrested 30-year-old Ryan Rattler on Monday on charges of possessing drugs with intent to deliver. He appeared Tuesday in Ward County District Court.
Police connected Rattler to a storage unit where an officer witnessed “suspicious activity with possible drug activity” on Sunday, according to a news release. After getting a search warrant, officers found 15,000 fentanyl pills, 80 grams of fentanyl powder and an undisclosed amount of marijuana in the unit, the release said.
The Ward County Narcotics Task Force, which aided in the search, conservatively estimated the value of the fentanyl to be more than $1 million.
“Fentanyl is responsible for the vast majority of the 38 overdose deaths in our area in 2020 and 2021,” the Minot Police Department said in a statement. “The great work of our officers and our partnership with the Ward County Narcotics Task Force is undoubtedly responsible for saving many lives.”

The seizure is the largest in the Minot region, the Minot Police Department said.
