Name released of child killed in southwest Minnesota accident

Braxton William Welch, 1, died of injuries from an accident involving a vehicle on April 15 in Redwood County.

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. — The child who died as a result of an accident with a vehicle on Friday, April 15, in Redwood County has been identified by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office as Braxton William Welch, 1.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was Jacob Urile Welch, 31.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the incident occurred at 5:56 p.m. April 15 near the intersection of Redwood County Road 61 and Jade Avenue.

The Redwood County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Wabasso Ambulance and Wabasso Fire Department, Centra Care Ambulance and North Air Care.
