Indiana motorcyclist dies southwest Minnesota crash

A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into a ditch while traveling northbound along state Highway 23 in Lyon County.

SHELBURNE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A motorcyclist, identified as 44-year-old Dustin Edward Lehman of Lafayette, Indiana, died after crashing Saturday night on state Highway 23, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the report, the motorcycle was traveling northbound at 10:11 p.m. Saturday on Highway 23 near 150th Street in Shelburne Township when it left the roadway and crashed into a ditch. Lehman was transported to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall, Minnesota.

Road conditions was reported as dry at the time of the accident.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident. Lehman was not wearing a helmet.

Balaton Fire/Emergency Medical Services, Russell Fire and First Responders and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the scene southwest of Russell.
