A Grand Forks man has been arrested for attempted murder following an apparent stabbing Sunday, Sept. 12.
Hassan Mohamed Hussein, a 28-year-old Grand Forks resident, has been arrested for attempted murder, a Class A felony in North Dakota punishable by up to 20 years in prison, according to a release from the Grand Forks Police Department.
A stabbing was reported in south Grand Forks on Sunday evening.
Officers were called to meet a vehicle that was driving to the Altru hospital emergency room with a stabbing victim on Sunday afternoon, according to a news release.
Investigators have since learned that a disturbance occurred in the 2800 block of South 34th Street between John Bakizuwabo, 20, of Grand Forks, and Hussein. Bakizuwabo was transported to Altru emergency with a puncture wound to his torso. Hussein was subsequently located and arrested.
