Grand Forks schools recognized for excellence in music education

The Grand Forks school system has been designated as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for 2020 by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation.

The designation is awarded to school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. Recognition is given based on funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities and support for music programs.

This is the 18th year that the Grand Forks school system has received the designation.

Along with the Grand Forks, Bismarck, Fargo and Mandan school systems also were selected to receive the designation for 2020. They were among 754 school districts across the country to receive the honor.

The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit organization supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants and its 10,400 members around the world.
