Grand Forks man sentenced for sending teen sexual messages

A Grand Forks man will spend two years behind bars for sending sexual text messages to a teen.

Greogry Wayne Lindeman, 24, pleaded guilty on Monday to felony charges of corruption of a minor and luring a minor by computer. Both felonies held maximum penalties of five years in prison.

An affidavit for Lindeman’s arrest said he was 23 when he messaged a 16-year-old girl in February 2018. He asked the girl for explicit photos and planned to pick her up around midnight one night, the affidavit said. He sent her texts the next day about how they had sex.

The girl messaged Lindeman and was concerned about her age and investigators said he knew she was a minor.

He will spend five years on probation after he’s released and is required to register as a sex offender.
