On Tuesday, June 23, the Grand Forks City Council and new Mayor Brandon Bochenski were sworn into office.

The swearing-in ceremony happened after a farewell to Mike Brown, the city's outgoing mayor, and Sandi Marshall, a council member who decided not to run for re-election. After that, the council reconvened for an organizational meeting with Bochenski at the helm. He and the council recited their oaths of office before electing a council president, vice president and appointing a city attorney.

The event was not open to the public, due to coronavirus concerns.
