GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks City Council is considering how it might regulate any potential tiny homes built in the area.

At their Monday, Sept. 9, meeting, a city planner discussed possible regulations for the homes, including how many people can live in one and how many can be built in the city.

"(We want) to get it out for discussion purposes, and I think some of the challenges are then to see how some of our current zoning regulations fit in with this particular style of housing," said Brad Gengler, city planner.

Gengler said he hopes the city will get its regulations figured out before any possible boom in tiny houses.
