Candidates for the North Dakota House race in District 43 will not seek a recount, officials say.
Grand Forks County Auditor Debbie Nelson, who led voting efforts for Grand Forks County this year, received a letter from the state Wednesday informing her there will be no recount, she said.
Official canvassing reports Nelson shared Nov. 13 showed Democrat Matt Eidson and Republican Ben Olson, were only 35 votes apart.
Eidson and fellow Democrat Mary Adams won the House race, with approximately 25 percent and 28 percent of the vote, respectively. Republican incumbent Rep. Rich Becker came in last with around 23 percent of the vote.
Democratic candidate JoNell Bakke beat two-term incumbent Sen. Lonnie Laffen in District 43's Senate race, with nearly 53 percent of the vote.
