MINOT, N.D. — An explosion at a house in southwest Minot triggered a fire early Monday, Sept. 27, causing significant damage, city officials said.

Fire crews were dispatched to a report of an explosion at 1200 Second Avenue Southwest at 1:35 a.m.

Firefighters were told that the house with three floors was on fire and the occupants had not been accounted for, according to city officials.

A person walking by the house alerted the people inside and they all escaped unscathed.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze engulfing the rear of the house and doused flames that were spreading to neighboring structures.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation, city officials said.
