No major injuries were reported at a Grand Forks house fire Saturday evening.
Crews were called around 9:11 pm on Saturday, April 3 to a home on the 1100 block of Hammerling Avenue for a report of a structure fire.
Fire crews arrived on scene to find fire and smoke showing from the back of the home as well as the roof. Crews worked to extinguish the fire on the exterior and in the attic space.
The structure sustained significant fire damage to the areas involved and is estimated at over $50,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and the occupants were displaced from their home.
The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck and one command vehicle with 17 personnel. One occupant suffered minor heat related injuries and was assessed by medical personnel on scene but not transferred to the hospital.
GFFD was assisted by the Grand Forks Police Department, Altru Ambulance and Xcel Energy.
