No one was injured after an early-morning garage fire in Grand Forks on Thursday, Feb. 18.
Grand Forks fire crews were dispatched to 5680 E. Prairie Wood Dr. for a report of a structure fire around 2:05 a.m., according to a release from the Grand Forks Fire Department. When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from a two-story home. A fire was located in the attached garage and extinguished.
Fire and smoke caused an estimated $50,000 in damage that was contained to the garage, according to the release. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No one was injured in the fire, and the residents were allowed back in the house Thursday morning.
The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck, one command vehicle and 21 personnel. They were assisted by the Grand Forks Police Department and Altru Ambulance.
