Grand Forks Public Schools has launched a podcast, titled “This is the Story,” to inform the public about the June 22 referendum.
In that special election, voters will weigh in on whether to approve up to $86 million in a school building bond issue, and a 10-mill increase for the district’s building fund. The district currently levies 10 mills for that fund; 20 mills is the maximum it can levy.
In each of the roughly 40-minute episodes, a school administrator is featured. Terry Brenner, superintendent; Scott Berge, business manager; and Chris Arnold, director of buildings and grounds, describe conditions facing the district that the referendum would address.
The podcast is available on Spotify, https://anchor.fm/gfschools , and will be added to Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts in the coming days, according to a statement from the school district.
New episodes will drop each week and will explain different facets of the upcoming referendum, the district said in the statement.
