"It gives me great pleasure to announce that I have invited Brad Rundquist to serve as the next Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. Brad has accepted the offer and is pleased to continue to support faculty, staff, and student success. Please join me in congratulating Brad," DiLorenzo said.

Rundquist has previous leadership experience as chair of several units, including sciences and humanities, and as associate dean.

He took over the position from former dean Debbie Storrs, who was appointed senior vice provost last July.

Finalists for the dean's position visited campus and met with students and faculty over the past few weeks.

Other finalists included Nancy Eaton, who currently serves as the associate dean of the College of Arts and Science at the University of Rhode Island; and Cam Wesson, who is the interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Lehigh University.
